Jackson Cannon is Boston.com Cocktail Club’s host and bar director for Eastern Standard and The Hawthorne. The veteran craft cocktail leader opened Eastern Standard in 2005 as Bar Manager, quickly cementing the neighborhood brasserie’s reputation as one of the country’s best bars, known for its attention to properly crafted cocktails and unwavering hospitality in a high-volume environment. The iconic, expansive program offering more than 60 classic and new creations secured national attention and earned Cannon “Bartender of the Year” award from Nightclub & Bar magazine in 2011. Cannon introduced the next iteration of his vision when he opened The Hawthorne, an experience centered in his commitment to thoughtfully crafted cocktails, continued cocktail/spirits education, and curating exceptional moments for guests. The Hawthorne has received numerous local and national accolades, including a semifinalist award for James Beard Foundation’s “Outstanding Bar Program” in 2014 and 2015, and winning Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Award for “Best Hotel Bar” in 2017. Cannon was a finalist for “Best Bar Mentor” at the 2013 and 2014 Spirited Awards and a 2014 Wine Enthusiast Wine Star Award nominee for “Mixologist/Brand Ambassador of the Year.”
Jared Sadoian is the General Manager of Craigie on Main in Cambridge, MA, and former Assistant Bar Director of award-winning cocktail lounge, The Hawthorne, and its sister restaurant, Eastern Standard. He is an accomplished manager of hospitality programs, generous mentor to the upcoming generation of young bartenders, and in-demand educator at regional and national events.
Hailing from the South of France, Seb started his career in the beverage industry 17 years ago in London at the prestigious Nobu restaurant and then in many “members only” clubs. In 2007, he took his talents and cocktail shakers to Brisbane & Sydney, Australia and during his time there, won several awards for outstanding cocktails, service, and leadership including two Australian Bar Awards and a Queensland Lifestyle Award.
Seb’s journey with William Grant & Sons began in 2012 where he successfully represented the company’s whisky brands. In 2013 he was appointed the Hendrick’s Gin Ambassador covering Australia & New Zealand and then continued his ambassadorship in the U.S. Most recently, Seb was the U.S. Ambassador for Monkey Shoulder, the blended malt Scotch whisky owned by William Grant & Sons. After two fruitful years with Monkey Shoulder, Seb was happy to be back where his journey began: with Hendrick’s Gin, taking on the role of U.S. National Ambassador.
In January 2020, William Grant & Sons was excited to announce that Seb, one of the hospitality industry’s biggest advocates, was taking on a new role as U.S. Manager of Brand Advocacy and started implementing positive change, creative programming and unwavering support for the beverage community.
